Stephen Curry Reportedly Scores a Luxe $8M Condo in San Francisco

Now that the Golden State Warriors have moved from Oakland to the brand-new Chase Center in San Francisco, NBA superstar Stephen Curry is also putting down some San Francisco roots. He picked up a condo in the new Four Seasons Residences building at 706 Mission St. for around $8 million, the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Scheduled for completion in June, the 45-story tower is built above the city’s Mexican Museum, across from the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. It’s also a short Uber ride to the Chase Center.

Another plus? It’s close to the neighboring Millennium Tower, which is home to wife and restaurateur Ayesha Curry’s International Smoke restaurant. 

According to the report, the Currys picked out a 2,800-square-foot condo on the 30th floor. The tower residences boast floor-to-ceiling glass, high ceilings, and floor plans that take advantage of the views throughout the living space.

“In new construction, the condo market is really strong in these larger units that we’re seeing,” says Morgan Ball, managing director at Compass Development, referring to the city’s new high-rises, including the Harrison, a tower located less than a mile from the Four Seasons Residences.

Size matters in these high-rises, he says. “For certain really wealthy buyers, they’re looking for a bigger size than has been offered in the past.”

Condo living is also attractive to high net worth types and celebrities who won’t be staying in the building full time. “It’s the complete convenience of the ‘lock and leave’ lifestyle,” says Ball. 

Ball notes that at the Harrison, residents enjoy a seven-days-a-week concierge service that can arrange housecleaning or grocery delivery. “It’s akin to living in a hotel,” he adds.

The 146-unit Four Seasons Residences tower will offer what it bills as “anticipatory service,” 24/7 concierge service, security monitoring, valet parking, gym, and lounge with a full bar, private dining, and outdoor terrace.

Units in the building boast Poggenpohl kitchen and bath cabinetry; Sub-Zero, Wolf and Cove appliances with gas cooking; wide-plank oak flooring, and marble baths.

It’s also close to transit hubs, the Bay Bridge, restaurants, and cultural institutions such as the Museum of Modern Art and Yerba Buena Center for the Arts.

“It’s really about convenience and luxury,” Ball says. “There’s a huge resurgence in interest both in downtown, [South of Market neighborhood], and high-rise luxury living, and a continued appreciation for the lifestyle that it offers.”

The Currys don’t plan to abandon their posh property in Atherton, CA, which they reportedly purchased in June for $31 million, a record for the San Francisco Bay Area. This new condo will likely serve as the family crash pad for home games.

And while he’s been plunking down a lot for luxury dwellings lately, the baller can well afford it. Curry signed a five-year, $201 million contract with the Warriors.
