You can rent this French chateau in Lake Arrowhead, CA, from the Red Rocker himself. Rock star Sammy Hagar has decided to lease his lakeside home for $30,000 a month while he looks for a buyer.
The erstwhile Van Halen frontman purchased the place in 2009 for $2.3 million. After luxuriating in the mountain hideaway for eight years, he put it on the market for $5.9 million in 2017.
Today, if someone wanted to stroll away with the entire place, the price for the lakeside retreat would be $3.9 million.
No detail was overlooked in the construction of this massive lake house. Granite boulders were cut on site, and it also includes hand-carved limestone, beamed ceilings, and walnut floors.
The game room features a bar and massive sound system and both steam and sauna rooms. The stately but rugged eight-bedroom, 8.5-bathroom home also features a number of other luxe upgrades.
Outdoors, there’s an oversized spa, barbecue, and a private path to the lake and dock below.

This California lakeside chateau isn’t the only stunning property in the Hagar portfolio that has been slow to sell. He listed a 10-acre clifftop property in Maui, HI, for $3.3 million in 2017, and it still hasn’t sold.
The 72-year-old Red Rocker is showing no signs of cruising below 55 anytime soon. He’s currently on tour and was recently added to the lineup for the 2020 MusiCares Person of the Year concert, a tribute to Aerosmith, on Jan. 24 in Los Angeles.
He also oversees the empire of the Cabo Wabo lifestyle brand, which includes restaurants, spirits, and a yearly pilgrimage event in Cabo San Lucas in Mexico for the Hagar faithful, affectionately called “Redheads.”
