The actress Meryl Streep is off to a winning start in 2020. The A-lister just sold her posh penthouse in New York City’s Tribeca neighborhood, the Wall Street Journal reported.
Overlooking the Hudson River from a three-sided wraparound terrace, the spectacular space reportedly changed hands for $15.8 million.
The apartment was first offered in 2018 for $24.6 million, Streep struggled to find a buyer, dropping the price to $19.75 million, and then to $18.25 million last year. The discount seems to have done the trick and pulled off a sale of the luxury home.
While the beloved actress did need to compromise on the asking price, she and her husband, Don Gummer, must still have come out ahead. The two bought the home in 2006 for $10.3 million, according to Business Insider. Even if they have poured money into customizations, they stand to make a decent profit on the sale.

The 3,944 square feet feature four bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms, along with multiple access points to the lushly planted, 10-foot-wide terrace.
The apartment sits on the top of the River Lofts building, and a private elevator opens to the floor. The loftlike space showcases views from floor-to-ceiling windows in the living and dining room, and features a fireplace, wide-plank flooring, and terrace access.
Additionally, the flexible floor plan includes pocket doors, which allow for closing off spaces for more privacy or opening them up for large gatherings.
