Talk about retail therapy: A new penthouse being built in Palm Beach, FL, will sit atop the tony town’s Tiffany & Co. outpost. As it’s the only private residence in the building, the new owner will be able to have breakfast, lunch, and dinner at Tiffany.
This unique piece of real estate above the iconic luxury jewelry store is on the market for $17.5 million—or roughly the cost of 1,300 1-carat diamond engagement rings.
“This is a one-of-a-kind property, a single penthouse residence above Tiffany’s on iconic Worth Avenue,” says John Reynolds of Douglas Elliman. He represents the listing along with Gary Pohrer, also of Douglas Elliman.
The unit has “more than 13,000 total square feet with an incredible rooftop terrace, sky bar, gym, and game room,” Reynolds says. Also included: bragging rights of proximity to the retailer made famous in the movie “Breakfast at Tiffany’s,” starring Audrey Hepburn.
Alas, the buyer won’t receive the distinctive robin’s-egg blue Tiffany box along with keys to the residence. But we’re certain the developer is hoping a buyer will say “yes” to this luxe proposal.
The Kean Development project is expected to be completed by winter 2021. The residence will have five bedrooms, 7.5 bathrooms, and staff quarters. Current images are renderings of what the finished project will look like.
With enormous windows and doors, the penthouse design maximizes views of Worth Avenue and abundant natural light.
The layout will offer three fireplaces, state-of-the-art technology, an elevator, and a rooftop play space.
In fact, the rooftop is billed as the only one of its kind in Palm Beach, with views of Worth Avenue. The space will hold a lounge with full bar, billiard area, full bath, and gym.
There will also be an infinity pool, sunbathing areas, a putting green, and outdoor bar, dining area, and fire pit.
“This project is an exceptional opportunity for a buyer to own one of the most exclusive residences on the East Coast,” the listing states.
It’s not clear if shoppers will glance up and notice residents living over the store before they shop for an engagement ring or register for fine China. Plus a buyer should also be aware: there’s no excuse to show up empty-handed for a wedding anniversary or birthday.
Naturally, the residence is located near upscale restaurants, shops, and art galleries. It’s also a short stroll to the ocean.
And if you shop till you drop, you’ll never be too far from home.
