Ronnie Mund, the longtime bodyguard and limo driver of Howard Stern, is motoring away from his home in Whitestone, NY. He’s asking $915,888.
The foul-mouthed Queens resident admitted last year on “The Howard Stern Show” that he had plans to retire and move to Las Vegas. On the show last fall, Mund, who does double duty as a behind-the-scenes staffer and a gruff grouch mixing it up on air with the Stern staff, announced that he had bought property and planned to move out West with his fiancée, Stephanie Carney.
That scheme appears to be taking shape, with the listing of his ranch house.
Built in 1960, the detached three-bedroom, 1.5-bathroom home is located on a private, dead-end street.
The well-kept front lawn and white picket fence lead up to the brick steps and front door. Inside, the cozy space is decorated with stuffed animals, a lot of shades of blue, and some decor that fans of the show will surely recognize.
Measuring a modest 1,144 square feet, the layout offers a living room, formal dining room, painted in teal and featuring comfortable sitting chairs, a TV, and a dining area with a light fixture overhead.
An eat-in kitchen is painted a cheery yellow, with white cabinets and space for a breakfast table.
Along with three bedrooms, the home features one full bathroom with dual sinks and space for a small vanity.
It also has an office that fans will recognize as the backdrop to Ronnie’s virtual video appearances from home on “Howard Stern.” The packed office is filled from floor to ceiling with all things NASCAR, a testament to Ronnie’s undying love of motor sports.
The finished basement includes a den, half bathroom, and laundry, which is currently used as a lounge. The space could be converted to a gym, guest room, or additional workspace.
Other details include central air conditioning, vinyl windows, and a private driveway.
The home’s outdoor space comes with a deck and a grassy lawn, with bridge and water views. It’s a place where Mund, who is 71, appears to spend his downtime, as shown on Instagram.
“Ronnie the Limo Driver” began his association with the Stern show as a chauffeur and bodyguard for the broadcast legend 35 years ago. Mund, who served in the Air Force, then got into the limo business.
He began driving for Stern in 1986, and quickly became a well-known character on the show. Later, he became head of security for the Stern show studio and offices at Sirius Radio.
Anthony Testani with Keller Williams Realty Landmark holds the listing.
