Drum roll, please: The rocker Tommy Lee has just scored a swinging home in Los Angeles for $4.15 million, the Los Angeles Times reported.

The smaller but swanky spread in the Brentwood neighborhood is a change from his cavernous Calabasas, CA, mansion, which is still on the market for $4.6 million.

Serene sanctuary

The Mötley Crüe drummer clearly has a preference for unique spaces. He jumped at the chance to snap up this Zen-inspired space, complete with koi pond, artisan woodwork, and rainforestlike setting. While less than half the size of his Calabasas castle, this 4,266-square-foot home from 1961 is big on style.

It was originally listed for $4.4 million in 2020, but the price came down just a smidge, to $4,295,000, before Lee leapt for a deal at the slightly lower amount.

Behind the gate of the half-acre double lot, the Japanese-inspired modern sanctuary features indoor-outdoor living space, which expands the living area into the lush grounds.

The architectural gem includes a spacious open floor plan with a dining and living space, wraparound glass, and a kitchen that displays antique Japanese tansu custom cabinetry and Brazilian mahogany counters.

The master retreat comes with double-height ceilings, clerestory lighting, and two bathrooms and closets. It opens to a garden courtyard.

An office with a spiral staircase leads to a space for a yoga room, media room, or art studio.

Wide balconies overlook the serene gardens, with their unique vegetation, bamboo, a koi pond, herb garden, waterfalls, pathways, and an authentic Japanese teahouse.

In addition, the grounds offer entertaining spaces, including a pool with waterfalls, a dining deck, fire pit, barbecue, and enclosed greenhouse-style garden.

Calabasas casa languishes

Now that Lee has found his perfect perch, he still has his Calabasas home on his hands, which has been waiting for years for the right buyer to emerge.

The performer purchased the suburban spread in 2007 for $5.85 million. Back in 2016, when Lee first placed the property on the market, he sought a small profit, with an asking price of $5,995,000. But since then, the price has steadily dropped a good deal below what he paid for the place.

Last year, the price of the rock star’s home was cut to the current $4.59 million. A buyer in search of a rockin’ Calabasas getaway can score quite a discount.

Naturally the rock god’s home has a recording studio, complete with control room. Other upscale amenities include a home theater with concession stand and wine-tasting room, as well as an atrium with a retractable roof.

Set on a quarter acre, the splashy spread comes with a pool and spa, with city views.
